Pacing tips
Book Hagia Sophia early entry. Save Grand Bazaar for late afternoon when cruise groups leave.
Day 1: Sultanahmet core
Hagia Sophia opening time, Blue Mosque, Hippodrome, Basilica Cistern optional. Private /tours/istanbul/private-city-tour times entries. Early dinner Karakoy.
Day 2: Topkapi and bazaars
Topkapi Palace morning — harem ticket if interested. Grand Bazaar before 11:00 crowds. Spice Bazaar and Rustem Pasha Mosque.
Day 3: Bosphorus and Dolmabahce
Morning /tours/istanbul/dolmabahce-palace. Sunset /tours/istanbul/bosphorus-cruise. Ortakoy photo stop.
Optional day 4 swaps
Asian side Kadikoy — /tours/istanbul/asian-side-tour. Food tour — /tours/istanbul/food-tour. Princes Islands ferry if summer.
Museum Pass worth it?
Yes if 3+ paid museums in 5 days — Topkapi, Dolmabahce, Basilica Cistern add up quickly.
