Essentials
Universal adapter, comfortable shoes, daypack, reusable water bottle, and copies of passport and e-Visa.
Spring and autumn layers
T-shirt plus light fleece plus rain jacket — Istanbul showers and Cappadocia dawn cold. Scarf for mosques doubles as warmth.
Summer coast and inland
Swimwear for Antalya/Bodrum; modest cover-up for mosque days same trip. High SPF — Pamukkale and Ephesus glare intense.
Winter packing
Waterproof boots Cappadocia snow; warm coat Istanbul. Uludag ski — gloves and thermals if visiting Bursa.
Footwear priority
One broken-in walking shoe for marble ruins; sandals for coast. Cobblestones destroy fashion shoes in Sultanahmet.
